U City 10 Miler is still on!

As of 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, the U City 10 miler race is still on! Snow should be out of here by early evening. Check back here or on our Facebook page for updates.

Register before March 20th for the early fees for the U City run!!!

The U City 10 miler is only 10 days away - registration fees do not go up until March 20th. You can register online, come to any of the stores to register in person or download a flyer and mail it in! Spring is in the air (FINALLY) and what better way to celebrate than a long run through University City with fellow runners! We also will be giving away 10 Nike Runners Swag bags, one of which will contain the Golden Ticket for a free pair of Saucony running shoes. Mark Gowler is now with Ghisallo Running!

Ghisallo Running is so pleased to announce that Mark Gowler, previously with The Running Center, is now a part of the Ghisallo Running/Marathon Sports team! Mark has over 22 years of experience working with runners and athletes of all levels and abilities to get them in the right gear. And he knows a thing or two about biking and swimming as he has had a long career as a triathlete, competing both locally and nationally. Mark will work primarily at our U City store but you can occasionally catch him at our Chesterfield location (Marathon Sports).

Newton Running's Natural Running Symposium is coming to Ghisallo Running!

Newton Running is bringing their Natural Running Symposium to St. Louis for the first time. On Friday, April 1, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., we will have a reception and discussion with Newton at the U City store. Saturday, April 2, we will meet at the Field House in Forest Park for a Form Clinic led by the folks from Newton Running. You can attend one or both of the events. Minimus From New Balance!

Our New Balance Rep, Valerie, stopped by yesterday to let us know the Minimus has shipped and it should be arriving through our doors any day! We will update our Facebook page when we get in our shipment. The shoes will be available at all three of our locations!

Track and Field Season is around the bend....

Snow Day on Tuesday, Feb. 1

Ghisallo Running University City and Marathon Sports Chesterfield are closed Tuesday due to the road conditions - just too dangerous out there for us to take the chance on the roads and we feel it's too dangerous for our employees to get to work. Our Cape Girardeau store is open today but may have to close early, depending on the road conditions. Be safe out there!

Minimus From New Balance

New Balance has been developing a more neutral/minimal shoe for the last few years and their efforts have produced the brand new Minimus line of footwear. These shoes will be available for the first time at all three of our stores the first part of March. We will carry the road, trail and walking version of this great new shoe! Snowball Series Race #3 is Sunday 1-2-2011

Don't forget, Sunday is the third in the Gateway Athletics Snowball Series. The two races are 20K or 5 miles - leave from our Chesterfield location (Marathon Sports) at 7:15 a.m! If you are not signed up for the Series, the individual races are only $5,00 each. Don't forget we are also having a HUGE sale, including all summer clothing (50% off retail), select winter clothing (30% off retail) along with some fabulous prices on select sale shoes!
