Second Annual St. Michael's Day 5K Dash is Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009. Registration for the race, which takes place in Kirkwood, MO is now open. Last year's inaugural race drew over 800 participants and raised over $20,000 for the Kirkwood Five and Backstoppers, Inc. This year's race is in honor of Maplewood Firefighter Ryan Hummert and University City Police Sergeant Mike King, who both lost their lives last year in the line of duty. All proceeds benefit Backstoppers, Inc., an organization providing financial assistance to the families of fallen police officers and firefighters.
